Hello from Claudine. In my family we eat three meals a day and I am the one who does the shopping and prepares the food. Yesterday, for breakfast we ate rice with peanuts and for lunch we had rice with a vegetable sauce. For dinner, we had rice with a sauce of small peas. My family's favorite food is rice with bean sauce and bananas for dessert.

Hello, it's me, Claudine. The illness that my family has the most often is the flu. The climate of Ambalvao is different than other places because our environment has been destroyed and that plays a big role in our climate. For me, my favorite season is the rainy season because there is enough water - something we lack at other times of the year. At the present moment, it is the rainy period and we do not have to get up early and walk lots of kilometers to get water. The climate is not a problem for my business because charcoal is something people need all the time.

Hello! It Claudine; I get up at 6 AM, I prepare breakfast, clean up and after breakfast I prepare the children to go to school; and we leave together and I go to the market to buy food and things to sell; when I come back, I prepare those things to sell and I go out to sell them in front of my house and I can make lunch at the same time; in the afternoon, I keep selling till 5 PM; we dine at 7 PM and go to bed at 9 PM. Sundays I go to church.

Hello, it's me, Claudine. I have one child who goes to school and I don't think I will have a problem with expenses as I have been saving money for this for a few months. Even so, I find that cost of school supplies has gone up too much this year. As for me, for my child I spend 50,000 ariary ($32) at a minimum for their school supplies. But we must find a way to do this, as it is important for their future.

Hello! It's me, Rahantanirina. My business is going well at this time and I am not complaining. During the vacation, the children are going to help me with my sales and household chores. On Independence Day we went to the stadium in the morning to watch the parade and then we had lunch. We ate different things than we normally do. In the afternoon, the children went to the festivities organized by the town and saw the awards presentation.

Hello! It's me, Rahantanirina. My business continues to go well, and I am happy because I have been able to keep aside a portion of what I have earned to celebrate Independence Day. This is our biggest celebration and I wish to bring pleasure to my children by buying them nice clothes, but I do not plan to spend too much because it is necessary to remember also that after the celebration is over, life continues!

Claudine here. I am happy because the business of charcoal selling is going very well and I have earned more profits than I thought I would. With the profits I was able to repay the first loan installment on time and I was able to reinvest into the business like I learned at the business training we received.
