Razanamanga Berthe
Charcoal Vendor
FundedMy name is Razanamanga Berthe and I am 54 years old. I am a charcoal seller and I would like to expand my business with this loan. I have 5 children from 37 to 15 years old. I studied only until the 5th grade, but I am a pretty good charcoal seller because I know the places to set up my shop.

Hello from Berthe. In my family we eat three meals a day and I am the one who always does the shopping and prepares the food. Yesterday, we ate rice with a vegetable sauce for breakfast and for lunch we had rice with a sauce of greens. For dinner, we had the same as for lunch. My family's favorite food is rice with fish sauce.

Hello, it's me, Berthe. The illness that my family has most often is malaria and a cough. The climate of Ambalavao is different than other places because of the destruction of the environment here and that plays a big role in our climate. For me, it is the rainy season that I like the best because there is enough water for several months. Right now it is the rainy period and water is abundant, so we do not have to get up early and walk for many kilometers to get water. It is not a problem for my business because people need charcoal all the time, so my business continues to do well.

Hello! It's Razanamanga, I get up every morning at 6 AM and clean the courtyard, then i prepare breakfast and clean up; right after breakfast, I leave to the market to buy the things i need, to make the things I sell, because the things I sell are already cooked, and i prepare them and sell them in front of my house all day, even on sundays.

Hello, It's me, Berthe. I do not have children in school and I am no longer in school so I do not know the difference between the cost of this year and previous years. As for me, my parents always planned ahead of time so they did not have to worry even though there was a cost increase. That is normal to have prices increase and we know that that is going to happen each year.

Hello! It's me, Razanamanga. My little restaurant continues to do well even though it is the vacation period. For the vacation, my children are going to stay here and will spend their time playing and helping me in the restaurant and with household chores. To celebrate Independence Day, we went to the stadium in the morning to watch the parade and hear the speeches of the town officials. In the afternoon, the children attended the festivities that the town had organized. For lunch, we ate chicken.

Hello! It's me, Razanamanga. My little restaurant is doing well and I think that this month it will be even better because of the Independence Day celebration. For me, this will be a celebration like all the others. We will eat good food and the children will wear nice clothes, but I will not spend too much because it is necessary to also think about the reimbursement.

Hello from Berthe. I want to thank the team for the training that we received about how to better manage our businesses. It has been very helpful. Right now I am happy that I was able to repay the first loan installment on time with the profits I have been earning. Thank you!
