My name is Ravaoarisoa Iarilaloa Mariette and I am 31. I have 6 children, from 10 to 4 months. I would like to use this loan to sell donuts and coffee along the street to the school children that pass my way on their way to school. I studied until the 7th grade.

Updates

Jan 2009

Hello from Iarilalao Mariette. Normally, we eat three times a day and at each meal we have some rice. For example, yesterday for breakfast we had rice with small pieces of fried beef. For lunch, we had rice with sauteed vegetables and, for dinner, we had rice with mixed cooked leafy greens. My family's favorite meal is pork with small peas.

In my opinion, the climate of Ambalavao is different because there are lots of mountains here and not a lot of forests. I like summer best because at that time, I feel well and the temperature is favorable for my business. It is hot and rains a lot right now but that does not have an impact on my business which continues to do well.

It's Mariette; I wake up very early every day at 3 am to make mofo and coffee to sell because we open at 4 am and everything must be ready before opening and we don't close until 7 pm so that is where I make our lunch. We make mofo again at 3 pm and we don't stop until 5 pm, we go to bet at 8 pm. Every day is like this, even Sundays.

For me, the return to school is something that we must plan for each year. I don't find any reason to panic about this because we already know that the costs rise each year. It is just necessary to plan for this each year and then we won't have a problem. There is no sense in complaining - that does not solve anything. After all, in order to have a good future for our children, it is necessary to make sacrifices.

For the vacation, my children are going to help me with my sales and getting the things ready to sell, as well as with household chores. For Independence Day we did things that we do not normally do. We ate chicken and in the morning we went to the stadium to see the parade. Then our whole family ate lunch together.

For us, it's like that because during the winter season the people need to have warm drinks like coffee and tea with little cakes all the time since it is so cold. Therefore, there is not a lot of difference in people's habits even though it is our Independence Day. For me, this celebration is an important celebration because it signifies our independence, but still, it is important not to spend too much.

I am happy because my business is doing very well at the moment and I was able to repay the first loan installment without trouble. I hope that I will be able to continue like this and I won't have any trouble reimbursing the rest. I am thankful for the training I received because it has helped me think hard about how to save my money and plan my expenses. Thank you!
